National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day
As the United States is still struggling with the Coronavirus pandemic and working to avoid large gatherings, communities must re-consider how to honor Homeless Person’s Memorial Day. This strange COVID timing also lines up with the 30th Anniversary of HPMD. In order to honor this moment in time, the National Health Care for the Homeless Council and the National Coalition for the Homeless will be hosting a National Virtual Memorial on December 21st at 4 - 5pm Eastern.

This event will include a reflection on the last 30 years with the Executive Director of the National Coalition for the Homeless (Donald Whitehead), a video honoring those without homes we lost this year, stories about a few of these individuals, and a message from the Executive Director of the National Health Care for the Homeless Council about reimagining how our communities function in ways that uplift well-being and how we create a world without homeless death. We know this year has been particularly difficult for many of us, so please join this memorial to give yourself time to reflect on the trauma of homelessness, grieve in solidarity for all that we have lost, and recommit ourselves to ending homelessness.
